Wellington Massage Therapy

Woman having a massageTherapeutic Massage is a hands on therapy which manipulates the soft tissues of the body.

Focused treatment work is usually designed to address specific problems associated with chronic musculoskeletal pain and tension.

  • The techniques used will vary according to treatment needs.
  • Time is taken at the beginning of each appointment for consultation and assessment
  • Clients may require frequent sessions to gain the greatest benefits.

Whether it be to help your sports performance, for pure relaxation, to support your body through pregnancy or just to keep you functioning well, we believe everyone is able to benefit from the therapeutic benefits of massage.

We offer Sports Massage, Relaxation Massage and Maternity Massage with the option of half hour, one hour and ninety minute appointments.

Techniques used:

Swedish Massage

A relaxation massage which improves circulation and assists with the removal of toxins in the body. Relaxes body and mind. This type of massage uses long flowing strokes and would usually involve light to medium pressure.

Trigger Point Release

Involves de-activating trigger points that cause localised pain. Manual pressure and vibration compression is used. Throughout the session there will be communication between you and the massage therapist regarding pain referral and thresholds.

Myofascial Release (MFR)

This involves the application of sustained pressure and movement in to the fascial systems to break down restrictions. This is done by stretching and/or dry skin rolling and doesn’t usually involve oils or waxes.
